The existing side steps had become a safety hazard. The timber was rotting, the paint was peeling, and the old railing was broken and unstable, making the side door practically unusable.
We needed to work in a narrow space between the brick house and the boundary fence. The goal was to remove the dangerous old structure entirely and build a replacement that was durable and fit the tight dimensions perfectly.
We demolished the rotting woodwork and built a brand new landing and stair set using durable treated pine. We added a solid new handrail and wide, stable treads to ensure safe and easy access.
The side door is now fully functional and safe to use. The fresh timber construction has turned a neglected, dangerous corner into a neat and secure entryway.
