The homeowners had an open gap between their house and the neighboring wall, leaving the backyard exposed to the street. They needed a secure barrier that provided privacy while still allowing easy access to the rear of the property.
We couldn't simply dig posts into the ground due to the existing paving. We needed to build a custom frame that fit tightly between two existing brick structures without damaging them, ensuring the gate would hang straight and swing freely.
We constructed a treated pine frame anchored securely to the brickwork on both sides. We clad it with vertical timber palings for a clean, solid look and installed a sturdy hinged gate with heavy-duty hardware to withstand daily use.
The backyard is now fully enclosed, safe, and private. The new gate blends perfectly with the house, turning an awkward gap into a secure and functional entry point.
